Legendary satirist Joey Skaggs pioneered the art of the media hoax, creating elaborately wild news stories that were just believable enough to be picked up by mainstream media and reported as fact. From 1976’s “Cathouse for Dogs” to 1986’s “April Fool’s Day Parade” to 2015’s “You Gotta Watch the Movie to Find Out,” Joey Skaggs uses the media’s own worst qualities against itself, revealing the ways in which our society vets - or not - our sources of “truth.”
Art of the Prank is an emotional and humorous journey following the evolution of a fierce proponent of independent thinking and the man who has turned the media hoax into an art form.
