LOGLINE

On a rare weekend with his son, Dan gets into a violent scuffle with another parent, resulting in a concussion he refuses to acknowledge.

Synopsis

Dan gets the rare opportunity to spend a full day with his son Toby, and he’s going to make it count. But a petty argument at a public basketball court results in Dan getting knocked out cold in front of Toby. Humiliated, Dan spends the rest of the day refusing to acknowledge a severe concussion, leaving Toby to navigate the increasingly chaotic aftermath. The film explores themes of pride, masculinity, and the complicated bond between parents and children.

TEAM BIOs

JONAH TRILLING is a writer/director born and raised in Los Angeles and based in New York. His most recent film, THE NOBLE ACT, won Best Narrative Short at the Dumbo Film Festival 2025. He is currently developing his first feature film.

COLIN POWER is a creative producer based in Brooklyn. He has produced award winning music videos and short films through his agency Power Media Lab. 

UMA HALSTED is a creative executive at Fifth Season, where she has worked on released films including "Friendship" (A24) directed by Andrew DeYoung (starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd), as well as upcoming films including "Samo Lives" (Neon) directed by Julius Onah (starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jeffrey Wright, and Antony Starr), "You Deserve Each Other" (Amazon MGM) directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein (starring Meghann Fahy and Penn Badgley), and "The Peasant" (A24) directed by and starring Dev Patel. Prior to Fifth Season, she worked at Pioneer Works Art Foundation and served as Associate Director at New York based gallery D.D.D.D. Pictures. 

SAPPHIRE STUBBS is a creative marketing executive who's held several management and president roles at UMG, Complex, and WME. She now runs her own consulting practice where she helps artists and businesses raise series funding.

PETER GROSZ is a scene-stealing comedic actor, best known as lobbyist Sidney Purcell on HBO's Veep, with roles across The Bear, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and The Menu. Peter is also a two-time Emmy-winning writer for The Colbert Report. 

BO DIETL is a retired New York City Police Detective, a media personality and actor. Bo is known for Carlito's Way (1993), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), The Irishman (2019), and The Bone Collector (1999).

SAM ROSEN is a 12-year-old performer, born and raised in New York, who has been on stage since he was 5 years old. Some of his favorite performances include Olaf in Frozen, Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Bruce in Matilda.
