FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
We know how hard it is to get a truly independent film funded, finished, and seen. That’s why LESFF offers fiscal sponsorship to select projects that align with the kind of bold, filmmaker-driven storytelling we champion at the festival.
Whether you’re early in the process or deep in post, we work with a small number of independent filmmakers each year to provide nonprofit sponsorship, meaning you can receive tax-deductible donations and grants under our 501(c)(3) status.
And unlike most orgs, we only take a 3% fee. No catch. No inflated admin costs. We’re here to help your film, not take from it.
We’re looking for:
Films that are truly independent — not backed by studios, streamers, or production companies
Projects with a clear artistic vision and a passionate team
Stories that are bold, personal, and impossible to ignore
Feature length projects only
Narratives, docs, hybrids— we’re format-agnostic
Eligibility:
To be considered, your project must:
Be a single film (no slates or series)
Be independently produced
Be seeking to raise at least $10,000 via fiscal sponsorship
Have a clear fundraising plan, creative team, and timeline
How to Apply:
To get started, submit the following:
Project description (logline, synopsis, artistic approach, current stage & timeline)
Audience + distribution plan
Bios of key creative team members
Fundraising strategy and any funding secured to date
Project budget
Work sample (previous work or a rough cut/trailer)
$45 non-refundable application fee.
All applications are reviewed by the LESFF team.
